Tell us what you did during Active Aging Week to redefine the term "Active."
LiveWell Group utilizes the annual ICAA Active Aging Week program to inspire and engage our residents. We develop a program of events that speaks to our residents curiosity and piques their interest in trying something new. Our Lifestyle program support the idea that we are never to old to stop learning…or having fun, and this is reflected in the special events planned during Active Aging week. We brought back some of our "fan favorite" programming from previous years, including an evening of axe throwing, new fitness classes to sample, and our annual neighborhood Pink Mile walk to support breast cancer survivors. Additionally, we brought in a health and wellness coach for "Brain Gym," we tapped into the kid in all of us while building adult LEGO models, got artsy with a gratitude graffiti wall, and made our own non-toxic essential oil hand soaps while learning about the health benefits of toxic-free living. We rounded out our week with a teaching kitchen program that was inspired by a recent ICAA magazine article. A local, family-owned small business taught our residents about the dumplings they make with fresh, seasonal ingredients. A performance from a "Cowboy Poet" and a family-feud game show style program entertained our communities at some of our social events. These and more special programs filled our lifestyle calendars with a variety of new programs and events to motivate our residents to get out of their comfort zone with new experiences within their community. We are proud to be a “Champion” designated Active Aging community for the 2024 ICAA Active Aging Week, and are spirited in promoting this initiative.
