Tell us what you did during Active Aging Week to redefine the term "Active."
Our campus proudly embraced the "Move Your Way" campaign highlighting multiple dimensions of wellness. Programing significantly enhanced our commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles for our residents. This initiative encouraged participants to engage in all activities tailored to their abilities, fostering a sense of community and well-being. Throughout the week, we organized a variety of physical fitness events; Chair Yoga, Chair Aerobics, Cardio Drumming, and a historical nature walk. Collaboration with our dining staff allowed us to host a “Brain Boosting Brunch” focusing on foods rich in cognitive benefits. Capturing multiple dimensions of wellness residents were able to be a part of a Dakota Cultural Appreciation event, tech talks with I.T, fall crafts, live entertainment, and a fall harvest festival. Also, residents enjoyed a picturesque, hallmark featured, fall extravaganza that included, carousel rides, pies, beautiful fall colors lakeside, and more. All programs designed to inspire residents to explore new ways to stay active. Embracing the "Move Your Way" campaign, we have created a vibrant culture of health and activity, demonstrating that age is just a number when it comes to living life to the fullest.
