At The Lodge, Active Aging means joyful, engaging, and fulfilling classes that provide residents with the opportunity to thrive! We hosted a variety of activities that incorporated all dimensions of wellness. Special classes included Music and Movement, Soft Style Kung Fu, a Nutrition Presentation, and a Healthy Cooking Class with our Culinary Director. We also had a Warphole Competition and an Axe Throwing Competition! One of the highlights was our fun Blender Smoothie Bike, where participants pedaled a stationary bike to blend their healthy and delicious smoothies. Combining a healthy treat with a bit of hard work, created camaraderie between residents and staff as they worked together to enjoy the fruits of their labor. In addition to these special events, we offered Massage Therapy, a Book Club, Chess Club, Watercolor Class, Board Games, Poker, and more. A standout moment of the week was our new partnership with Seattle Theatre Group’s Dance for Parkinson’s Disease, where residents enjoyed gently moving to live music. The week concluded with a big social event featuring entertainment, wrapping up an event-filled and enjoyable wellness week for everyone!
